Habitat for Humanity Women Build
Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West has served the west St. Tammany parish community since 1981, creating 199 affordable new homes with low-income families. Homes are created with volunteer labor and community funding, then sold to HFHSTW HomeBuyers with zero-interest mortgage loans.
Each HomeBuyer participates in financial education programs and contributes some 400 hours of “sweat-equity.”
Involvement opportunities include home-building, donations to ReStore, cash donations, and other special projects.
WIP signs up periodically to help build a Habitat for Humanity home. We call this Legacy Project the Habitat for Humanity Women Build project!
WIP members pitched in to help build a Habitat for Humanity home in Abita Springs from 9 to 3 on Saturday, October 29. Here are a few pictures that show what a great time they had!
